Ecole Bonaventure has a computer lab with 23 flat screen IMac computers in addition to a Smartboard for the Kindergarten to grade 4 teachers and students to explore all the possibilities and wonders of this new technology. The use of the computers is integrated across the curriculum for teaching and management purposes. The grade 3-6 students have an extensive keyboard training program. All students from K-6 are encouraged to use and have access to a wide variety of programs that support the classroom teaching of all subjects. The classrooms are also equipped with a pod of computers and are able to access the printer. The Grade 5 & 6’s have SmartBoards installed in each of their classroom. We are getting familiar and experimenting with this new technology. A cart of laptops is ready to be wheeled into the classrooms, to be used by the older students on the main floor. The internet is available to students to help in research projects as well as curriculum activities for all ages.

The School Division's "Acceptable Use of the Internet" policy states that without Parent's Permission, students who do not hand in their permission slips will not be able to use the internet as an informational source or participate in any on line educational activities. In the past, Kindergarten and grade 1 students have enjoyed working on online educational activities for their age and grade level. The grade 2-6 students have gone on the internet for additional information for their projects or have viewed internet sites on a specific theme they were studying in class. The grade 3-6 also use email as a form of comminicating with friends and family.

The internet is used at every level from K-6 and the students are supervised at all times.
