Our goal is to develop an Expressive Arts Program in which Drama will be a major component. With this objective in mind, Mrs. Forfar has developed a made for ESMS curriculum that will introduce our Gr. 7 & 8 students to drama, integrating subject material from their L.A., Fr. Health and S.S. curriculum.
Activities are varied and include: using sections of novels studied in L.A., drama exercises called grammar wars that work on vocabulary development, Readers Theatre that deals with topics related to Greek mythology in L.A. and S.S. and social emotional issues from the Health curriculum.
Students are also developing story boards and learning different camera techniques used in shooting a video. They will also be introduced to how setting, characterization, props and costumes are all part of making a video. Grade 9 students will use this background knowledge to story board, direct, shoot and edit an iMovie for the Fine Arts and Tech Ed. program |
