What is Lockport Lancer Leadership?
The Lancer Leadership program seeks to provide students with opportunities in order to develop the skills necessary to become prominent leaders within the school population and the outside community.
Program Goal: Leaders will become a positive, intentional influence on the lives and behaviours of others, within and beyond the school community.
The major areas that Lancer Leadership will target are School Spirit and Social Action. Students will plan school activities and special events—like Soc Hops and Spirit Weeks—as well as raising funds for school events and social causes.
Why would students choose to get involved?
Have fun and make new friends.
Be a positive force in their school by creating opportunities by students, for students.
Develop life skills and build for future opportunities (resumes, jobs, references).
What is the selection process?
Students in Grade 9 are invited to apply for a position on the Lancer Leadership Team by completing the Leadership application form. Forms can be downloaded from the school website or picked up from the bulletin board outside of Mrs. Van De Walle’s office.
Applications are due to Mrs. Van De Walle on or before SEPTEMBER 20th. After the initial application process individual interviews will follow for potential Leadership candidates. If you think your son or daughter would be ideal for this opportunity please encourage them to pick up an application and get it in on time.
