Welcome to the Comp!!

Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School, better known as “The Comp”, is a large grade 10 to 12 academic/vocational school. Our school is located in Selkirk with a student population of approximately 1,250. We have over 70 teachers and we offer complete programs in English, French Immersion and Technical Vocational Education. Our school is also home to a diverse International Student Program. We promote and support academic and extra-curricular excellence. We have an outstanding athletics program supported by talented coaches and on-site facilities. Our “Royals” teams are always competitive in our KPAC league and tournaments. We are home base to an extensive Continuing Education Program that provides learning opportunities for over 1,200 registrants every year – a large number of these registrants take advantage of swimming programs that go along with our in-house swimming pool. The facilities that support our programming are up-to-date with extensive technology support available. Vocational areas stay current to industry standards.

As a school we provide a safe, respectful learning environment for all students and staff. As a school some of the priorities that we promote include:

• Respectful behavior by our students and staff
• Consistent, school-wide behavioral expectations
• Positive school culture – especially activities that promote student “connectedness” to school
• Support for at-risk students
• Support for always upgrading the physical plant of the school

Our school mission statement is to encourage all students to realize their full potential. We offer diverse programming, and extensive extra-curricular activities, delivered by dedicated, professional, and enthusiastic staff, to allow students to do just that.
