Lord Selkirk School Division International Student Homestay Program
Have you considered being a homestay family? Opportunities are available for the 2009/2010 school year. The International Student Program in our Division has already accepted new High School students from Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Austria and Hong Kong. Many are scheduled to arrive this fall, but first they need a family and a home to call their own! Homestay placements could range in length from 5 to 10 months during the school year. Short term or temporary opportunities are also available.
Students require their own bedroom, three meals a day, and lots of friendly Manitoban hospitality. In return for making the student a part of your family, you will receive a monthly honorarium (tax free) for room and board. Perhaps you can lend a hand by opening your home and your hearts to an International Student.
We are now accepting new homestay applications - apply early, as the matching process must be completed by mid-June. For more information on the many ways you can get involved, please contact the International Student Program Assistant, Carolyn Schmidt at 482-6926 ext. 3265.
