Grade 3 SCIENCE
The science program is broken down into four clusters as follows:
Cluster 1 – Soils in the Environment
Soils in our environment will be used for the students to examine and discover soil composition.
Students have been investigating the different soils in our environment (sand, loam, organic matter, and clay).
Unit 2 – Invisible Forces
The focus of this cluster will be forces that act without direct contact; gravity, magnetism, and static electricity.
Unit 3 – Materials and Structures
In this cluster students will begiven hands on experience designing, building and testing small structures tofind their strength and stability.
Unit 4 – Growth and Changes in Plants
Students will be focusing on the characteristics of plants as well as gaining a deeper appreciation through caring for a plant over a period of time.
