Homework is given when a student does not finish the assignment in the allotted class time. Any work sent home will have been explained in class. The students will have had the opportunity to ask questions and get help if needed. When a project or test is upcoming you will be notified about the requirements and time lines in advance.
The students will have class time to record their assignments in their planner. They must also ensure all necessary books and supplies are taken home to effectively complete their work. The students are expected to do their best job on all assignments. Students are to work on their own and only ask for help after they have given their best effort. All assignments are to be completed and returned to school the next morning unless otherwise specified. All tests will be sent home for a signature.
Parents are the key to making homework a positive experience for their child. Therefore, I ask that parents make homework a priority. It is important to help your child find an appropriate place to work, help them set up a daily homework/reading time, and provide praise, support, and encouragement.
If there is any reason why your child has not completed their homework, please write a note in your child’s planner. Homework completion is part of the student's responsibility mark for the report card.
