RESOURCE
The resource team consists of a half time Resource Teacher and nine Educational Assistants. Educational Assistants work with children on an individual basis, small groups or as classroom support. Educational Assistants have opportunities throughout the school year to take part in professional development. Many of the Educational Assistants at Mapleton are trained in CPR, First Aid, regular in-school technology sessions, Math and Literacy activities and assisting children with medical conditions such as seizures, asthma and anaphylactic. Regular E.A. meetings take place where discussions and inservicing on technology, bullying, Autism and learning disabilities etc., are explored.
Mapleton School is proud to offer many extra supports to children in grades K-6. Programs offered include Roots of Empathy, Target Reading, Precision Reading, Handwriting Without Tears, Speech/Language, Enrichment, and Wiggleworks.
