Homework Policy
Homework that comes home will either be work that was unfinished at school or is specifically assigned as homework. At this grade level it is important that students develop study and work habits outside of school that will support them as they continue through junior high and high school. Due dates will be indicated in the student agendas. Homework should be something that students can do independently and within a reasonable amount of time.
Homework assignments are written on the class calendar throughout the day. Students are responsible for recording assignments in his/her student agenda, asking questions, and making sure he/she has the necessary materials to take home if the work has not been completed in school. Assignments that are not complete will need to be completed the following day and turned in to receive credit. When absent, students are responsible for completing any missed work for the day after the student returns to school, or on the date assigned by the teacher.
Agenda Book
The students will write in their agenda daily. The information your child will write may include upcoming school events, classroom events, reminders, homework, book report due dates, test dates, and incomplete assignments. I will also write in their agendas if needed. Please feel free to write any comments or concerns as it is meant to be a helpful communication tool between school and home. I am asking parents to sign the agenda book every night when your child has completed their assignments.
