Lord Selkirk School Division is proud to have supported the English-Ukrainian Bilingual Program (EUBP) for over 40 years as a vibrant part of our educational community and as proud members of the Manitoba Parents for Ukrainian Education (MPUE). Congratulations to the parents, families, and students of the EUBP for their dedication to preserving and celebrating Ukrainian heritage!

We are pleased to share that our Treaty Land Acknowledgment has been updated to reflect the continued importance of understanding Truth & Reconciliation and honoring the land we learn, work and grow on. The Lord Selkirk School Division recognizes that we are on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Anishininewuk & Dakota People and the homeland of the Red River Metis Nation.

It is with deep sadness that we reflect on the passing of the Honourable Murray Sinclair, a highly respected Indigenous leader, judge, senator and lifelong advocate for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada. Recently, we had the honour of sharing a special moment with Elder Sinclair, as he was able to view the mural of himself at Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School. Today, the hallway where his portrait stands is a little less bright as we mourn this incredible loss.

Lord Selkirk School Division (LSSD) owns 51 acres of forested land, located approximately 2 km south of Victoria Beach and almost adjacent to Albert Beach.

LSEC Adult Program is fundraising to raise money for their annual graduation expenses along with supporting future learner bursaries. There will be a Bud, Spud and Steak supper on Weds., October 16, 2024. The evening will include a 50/50 draw and silent auction at the Royal Canadian Legion. Supper tickets are $30 and 50/50 tickets are $10. (cash only) Please consider supporting LSEC by purchasing a ticket. Tickets are available at LSEC, 303 Main Street, Selkirk MB.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Grand Chief Cathy Merrick. In her honour, all flags at LSSD schools will be flown at half mast. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and the communities she served.
