Lord Selkirk School Division offers a wide variety of school-based pre-school and family literacy programs designed to positively impact early childhood development. All programs are free and incorporate developmentally appropriate activities that help to ease the transition into the school setting, and positively impact the social/emotional and physical well-being, and academic achievement of students entering Kindergarten.
Child Care Nursery School
The Child Care Nursery School is a program for children 3 and 4 years of age that runs in conjunction with the Family Studies Department in the High School in Selkirk. Our program provides a variety of open-ended activities in a co-operative, creative and sharing environment. For more information, or to register your child, please call 204-482-6926 (ext. 4240).

Happy Tots
Happy Tots is a pre-school program that operates out of Happy Thought School starting in April. It is an early literacy program offered to children ages six months to five years. Parents/guardians/family members and their children participate in songs, rhymes, stories, crafts, and playtime.

Mapleton School Program
Mapleton Before and After Program offers care to children between 7:00 - 8:30 am and 3:30-5:30 pm during the school year. We are a fee for service program with government subsidy available.

Lockport School
Play and Learn Day Nursery School
Play and Learn Day Nursery School is a play based learning Center located in Lockport School. Play and Learn Operates 2 sessions weekly, with an option for a 3rd session. AM sessions 8:45 - 11:45. PM sessions 12:45 - 3:45. Additional session on Friday morning.

Robert Smith School
Childcare Program
The Healthy Early Learning Program (HELP) located in Robert Smith School is a preschool Early Learning and Childcare program for 3 and 4-year-old children. This is a play based program with a focus of introducing children to the school environment. We are open from 7:00 - 5:30 all year. We are a fee for service program with government subsidy available.
