It is with deep sadness that we reflect on the passing of the Honourable Murray Sinclair, a highly respected Indigenous leader, judge, senator and lifelong advocate for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada.
Recently, we had the honour of sharing a special moment with Elder Sinclair, as he was able to view the mural of himself at Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School. Today, the hallway where his portrait stands is a little less bright as we mourn this incredible loss.
Murray Sinclair once said, “Education is what got us here, and education is what will get us out.” His unwavering commitment to justice and compassion for all will continue to inspire our hearts and actions, lighting our path forward.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all communities he touched. His legacy will live on in the hearts of our students and our schools. 🧡
