The Lord Selkirk School Division is proud to congratulate
Jude Bennett, a Grade 12 student at Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive
Secondary School (LSRCSS), on winning gold in the Automotive Technology (S)
category at the 2025 Skills Manitoba Competition, held on April 26th.
Jude earned 1st place in the Automotive Technology (S)
category, securing a spot to represent Manitoba at the Skills Canada National
Competition in Regina later this week.
This is Jude’s second year competing at Skills Manitoba.
After earning bronze in 2024, his dedication and growth in the automotive field
propelled him to the top of the podium this year. The automotive competition
challenges participants through six demanding stations: suspension, tire
balancing, electrical systems, engine diagnostics, brake systems, and
transmission work.
Jude is currently apprenticing at Xpert Auto in Selkirk,
where he continues to hone his hands-on skills. While he is still considering
his next steps after graduation, he is confident that he will pursue a career
that builds on the strong foundation he developed in the LSRCSS Automotive
Technology Program.
Jude is especially thankful for the guidance and mentorship
he has received from his teachers, Mr. MacIntosh who was instrumental in
preparing him for the Skills competition and Mr. Di Anni has been an important
part of his overall learning journey and continued growth in the automotive
technology program.
Congratulations, Jude! The entire LSSD community is
cheering you on — best of luck at Nationals in Regina!
