A Proud Moment for Lord Selkirk School Division

Lord Selkirk School Division is proud to have supported the English-Ukrainian Bilingual Program (EUBP) for over 40 years as a vibrant part of our educational community and as proud members of the Manitoba Parents for Ukrainian Education (MPUE).
Congratulations to the parents, families, and students of the EUBP for their dedication to preserving and celebrating Ukrainian heritage!
MPUE Vice-President External and LSSD Board Vice-Chair, Karen Johnston, along with Lisa Maximiuk, Vice-President Internal, recently accepted an award on behalf of MPUE. The honour was presented by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress - Manitoba Provincial Council (UCC Manitoba) as part of the “Our Community – Our Legacy” Recognition Program. This initiative recognizes 150 individuals and organizations for their significant contributions to Manitoba's cultural, educational, and social landscape.
The award ceremony, held at the Manitoba Legislative Building, marked the culmination of the community's celebrations of Manitoba's 150th anniversary and 125 years of Ukrainian settlement in the province. It was a proud moment to reflect on the impactful legacy of the Ukrainian community and its role in shaping our shared history.
