The Selkirk Community Pool is thrilled to announce a special fundraising event to commemorate its 50th anniversary!
This milestone celebration will take place on May 10, 2025, from 1-4 p.m. at Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School’s Community Pool located at 221 Mercy Street in Selkirk, MB.
This commemorative event will feature a variety of fun-filled activities aimed at bringing the community together while raising funds to support the maintenance and future improvements of the Selkirk Community pool.
These activities include:
Historical Photo Display and Slideshow: Guests can take a trip down memory lane where they will have the opportunity to view photos, newspaper clippings and memorabilia from the pool’s history.
Commemorative Merchandise: We are partnering with Keystone Sports to launch an online store featuring exclusive 50th-anniversary branded merchandise, including T-shirts, hoodies, hats, sweatpants and more! A portion of the proceeds from each sale will go directly back into the pool.
Exclusive Merchandise will be available for purchase at the event.
Photo Booth Experience: Guests can capture memories at our interactive photo booth! Each guest will receive a printed event takeaway photo strip and have the option to text their pictures.

Event Fundraising Activities:
- Ticket Pricing: $5 per person *every ticket sold (up to 1000) will include a numbered duck for the Duck Drop! Tickets will be available for purchase via EventBrite or by visiting the LSSD Board Office at 205 Mercy Street, Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30 p.m. (cash only for in-person ticket sales).

- Duck Drop: A total of 1000 numbered ducks will be dropped into the pool for chances to win a number of exciting prizes including Aquafit passes, lap/open swim passes, commemorative merchandise and even swimming lessons for the whole family!
Every ticket purchased (up to 1000) will include a numbered duck that will be part of the Duck Drop. Attendees will be assigned a numbered duck at the event.
Any remaining ducks will be available at the event for a donation.
Can’t Make It?
If you are unable to attend, support tickets will also be available for purchase and will include a numbered duck for a chance to win. Support ticket holders will be emailed their assigned duck number prior to the event. Please note there are only 1000 ducks, so donate early!
- Swim Meet: Featuring current and alumni Dolphins Swim Team members, students, and staff, participants will raise funds to compete in an exciting swim meet for a great cause.
- Cannonball Contest: Community members, students and staff can enter a fun splash competition, with judges selecting winners based on creativity and style.
- Aqua Demonstrations: Showcasing the pool’s versatility, with scuba diving and Aqua Zumba lessons to encourage future community participation in aquatic programs.
We are calling on the Selkirk community, local businesses, and surrounding municipalities to help support this special event. Whether through sponsorships, donations, or attending the event, every contribution helps ensure the Selkirk Community Pool remains a vital community asset for years to come.
