The Board of Trustees of Lord Selkirk School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Jerret Long as the 2020-21 Interim Superintendent. The appointment was made by the Board at a special board meeting on May 12, 2020 and is a result of the pending retirement of the current Superintendent Michele Polinuk in July.
Jerret is a graduate of the Lord Selkirk School Division and has been the Assistant Superintendent of Learning for the past three years. Jerret brought his leadership experiences as Principal and Vice Principal of LSRCSS, Principal at Wm. S. Patterson School and Vice Principal at St. Andrews School to this current role. Jerret is focused on building strong relationships with our community because he believes we all share the responsibility of helping our students thrive and succeed in Lord Selkirk School Division. He believes leadership development within the division is a crucial component of improving student achievement. With a focus on student equity and utilizing data to make informed decisions, he believes we can accomplish our educational vision of educational care and excellence.
Jerret has a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Physical Education degrees from the University of Manitoba and received his Master of Educational Administration degree from Memorial University.
Jerret lives in Winnipeg with his wife Nancy, and sons Noah and Micah. The Board of Trustees congratulates Jerret on his interim appointment and wishes all the success as he assumes this new leadership role on August 1, 2020.
Interim Assistant Superintendent
The Board of Trustees of Lord Selkirk School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Minaker as the 2020-21 Interim Assistant Superintendent. The appointment was made by the Board at a special board meeting on May 12, 2020.
Lisa is a graduate of the Lord Selkirk School Division and has held administrative positions for the past thirteen years within the division as Principal at Robert Smith School, Principal of Centennial School and Vice Principal of St. Andrews School.
Lisa has a Bachelor of Education and Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Education from the University of Manitoba and is the process of attaining a Masters in Education.
Lisa believes that there are many components to help students succeed in school. Building relationships with students, families and staff always comes first. Lisa believes that every child learns differently, students need to be actively engaged and that all students can be successful given the right conditions.
With a passion for educational leadership and classroom instruction, Lisa is looking forward to embracing the role of Assistant Superintendent as education continues to evolve during these challenging times.
Lisa lives in St. Andrews with her husband Rick, and sons Ethan and Noah. The family spends much of their free time on a baseball diamond.
